Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL)
The UANL is the third largest university in Mexico. As one of the first universities in the country, it has built a reputation for outstanding academic achievement. The University IT department contacted Sieena to get expert advice on how to automate some of its IT processes using Microsoft SharePoint 2007. Their main goal was to use technology as much as possible in their standardization effort towards achieving CMMi accreditation. The highest priority was to automate the change management and defects resolution processes. They also required Sieena to provide high a usability level that would allow the execution of tasks in an integrated and familiar environment for all users.
Sieena proposed and developed two SharePoint workflows for the university to demonstrate the capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint 2007 in supporting business processes. Primarily, Sieena sought to demonstrate the excellent level of integration of SharePoint with the technological base of Microsoft products already installed on the UANL.
